LAST Model Training (tear, tear)
So, The Fashion Revolution is in ONE WEEK! Are you guys excited?!! Are you ready for us to show you what we have been working so hard on?! Before I begin running the lowdown on our last rehearsal, I just want to say that I hope everyone enjoys the production and appreciate the heart of our local talent. Milwaukee has a wealth of talent that just needs exposure, and we hope that the Fashion Revolution can help achieve that and also support the community at the same time. This years show we are in a position to donate a portion of our profits to The Boys and Girls Club of Greater Milwaukee. So you should know that your dollars are not going directly in our pockets. The Fashion Revolution is a trademark for Milwaukee...embrace us, support us, and COME SEE US SATURDAY APRIL 5TH 2008! 8PM! Listen to 88.9FM (Radio Milwaukee), the week leading to the show, for details and info!

Sooo....what can I say? Where do I begin to start? It's been a while since I have updated you guys on the status of our model training and our success! I guess the only rightful thing to say is "FABULOUS!" This night was our last rehearsal and we reviewed our script and the dynamics of our walk.

Some of our best walkers darted along the runway and showed off their talent. I'm very confident that when these ladies and gentlemen present themselves the night of the show, they will be giving 110%. Again, I will say that I am very appreciative of all the models, and also Sabrina who takes the time to commit to our rehearsals and participate.

"WORK IT!", Sabrina challenges the models to step their game up!

First Model Training W/Sabrina & Ashley (professional model coach)
(left to right: Dominque (red shirt), Cleo (on runway). Sabrina (green jacket), Ashley (yellow sweater), ME (in the far back!lol)
So, all I can say is "YAY!" Anyone that knows me, know that I can overuse that word! lol! But I can't help it! I am so happy and proud of our models and their capabilities to easily pick up the "high fashion" walk that was taught to them by Sabrina and Ashley (two professional runway models and coaches). We started the night off with stretches and techniques that would prepare the models for the not-so-easy runway walk that was ahead of them to learn. Eagerly all the models lined us as Sabrina was ready to put them to work. And they "walked it out!" I can not wait to see these models strut down the runway! And I bet you can't either! It's definitely something to be anxious for. We have about 2 more trainings to go so the models can perfect the walk and then we're straight into the FASHION REVOLUTION 2008! HA! Remember to purchase your tickets. The production will definitely be worth the money! I GUARANTEE IT! Until next time my fashion focused friends...

The Fashion Revolution Magazine Fashion Spread Shoot.....
So...I can't be letting yall folks see all the goodies that will be in the magazine, but I can share with you some things that was pretty interesting about this shoot. So, I determined this day to be a SUPER SHOOT! We started at about 9am...keep in mind we had no coffee or breakfast. Started at 9am and
the day consisted of 5 fashion shoots, and of those, two major spreads for the magazine. We captured images of DQueens Crown (a returning designer), Asia Mynor, Shar'on De'lonta, Disaya Anne: ROSCOE, and we shot the actual designer of Campbell Couture. Core models were present and working hard! This is what I love about my team! Shana and Lance couldn't make it, but rest assured we'll be seeing more of them. Besides the wretched fall I had in front of EVERYBODY! LOL! I had the energy and focus to get the job done and produce some good material for the magazine. Everyone had a wonderful attitude despite the accumulating snow outside. Roche and Chad, our photographers for the day, and Trina Nicole our official make-up artist, helped make these shoots what they were: AWESOME! Below is snapshot of Asia Mynor's spread. You have to pick up the magazine to see the whole spread and the exclusive interview.

Core Model Training...
The best part of being in this industry is getting the opportunity to work with different people who all share the same interests and have a great deal of passion for the fashion industry. When I train with our Core Models, it is also a breathe of fresh air to see them excited and eager to share what they already know and to also be open about learning new things that would in turn support their career in modeling. We try to make sure to meet and train at least once a month to be sure we are practicing and retaining our knowledge. This past training, we talked about what we felt we could work on to improve our runway walk. We also practiced entry, end of runway, and exit poses.

The Preliminary Open Model Call...
The judges were more than impressed with the talent that poured through the door. Choosing only a few would prove to be a hard task for the panel. Decisioning will me made no later than December 30th via email.

August 18, 2007 @ The Marcus Garvey Day Celebration...
The Core Model Team had a blast dancing and singing through performances showcasing their many different talents! We had Trina Nicole (our official mua) on deck this day providing exceptional makeovers, and photographer Hank McClellan snapping pics! We were doing makeovers and accepting model applications for the show. A slow day, but many inquiries concerning the show and how one could get involved. Thank you to everyone who came and checked us out! :-)
